Dan Messina is an author, speaker, competitive cyclist, musician, and operations and transformation leader whose career began in the electrical field and progressed through industrial automation, continuous improvement, organizational transformation, and executive leadership.

Throughout his career, Dan has helped organizations diagnose complicated problems, connect strategy to frontline reality, improve systems, and create meaningful change. His work is grounded in the belief that the person closest to the work often sees what everyone else has learned to overlook.

After suffering a traumatic brain injury in 2021, Dan began applying the lessons he had learned through cycling, systems thinking, leadership, and continuous improvement to the more personal work of rebuilding his life.

His writing explores courage, resilience, career seasons, identity, psychological safety, reinvention, connector talent, and the difficult middle miles between who we were and who we are becoming.

Dan’s work does not offer easy slogans or polished stories of adversity conquered. It offers something more useful: an honest examination of what it means to begin again, pay attention to reality, and continue building a meaningful life when the original plan no longer fits.
